Many of our local food producers and hospitality outlets were recently recognised at the Gloucestershire Foodie Awards for 2024.
Best Farm Shop of the Year was awarded to Shop Cotswolds member Todenham Manor Farm. Situated close to the Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire borders, the farm shop features an onsite butchery selling award winning beef.
Vegan Taste Award of the Year was awarded to Stroud based confectionery producer Coco Caravan. The business prides itself on making the finest handmade vegan chocolate using unique cacao varieties from ethical sources combined with only unrefined coconut blossom sugar and nectar.
Start up of the Year was given to the iconic Roots and Seeds café in Cirencester becoming recognised for its ethos of championing local produce and sustainability. The venue has just launched the Roots + Seeds Deli supporting and celebrating local produce, open Friday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
The Made in Gloucestershire awards running alongside the main event saw Cirencester based Corinium Ales take the beer and cider award for the year. Shop Cotswolds member Oh My Goat, based in the Forest of Dean, took the Dairy award whilst another Shop Cotswolds member Non Solo Pasta took the Wine and Spirit award for its Lemoncello drink. The Authentic Bread Company won top place in the Baked Goods category, a family business celebrating organic and traditional methods of baking. Finally, Muk A G’s Asian Pie Company took the accolades in the Artisan Food category.
