Two local Cotswolds breweries Arkell’s and Donnington have joined forces to launch a new beer.
Arkell’s based in Swindon and Donnington Brewery, based near Stow-on-the-Wold, have used the spring water beside the mill pond at Donnington with the unfermented brew then taken to Arkell’s where fermentation took place using their specialist lager tanks and house lager yeast.
The result is a 4% ABV cask lager, known as Donkels. The beer is characterised by its light, refreshing and crisp profile. By using the unique qualities and brewing traditions of both breweries, the cooperation has resulted in a delicious stand alone beer.
