Shop Cotswolds member Woodchester Valley reports that the relatively warm and sunny weather in August has been extremely welcome and has helped the vines catch up from a damp cool July. In the lead up to harvest the vineyard is hoping for a dry and sunny September to help ripen the grapes.
In this context Woodchester is holding its Taste of the Harvest day on 6 October when visitors can see at first hand what goes on at a vineyard during harvest season. Priced at £55, the tickets include
- a welcome glass of Cotswold Classic on arrival
- a tour of the vineyard and see grapes on the vine with a dedicated tour host
- an insight of happens with the freshly picked grapes in the winery
- a sample of fresh grape juice and fermenting juice straight from the tanks
- local artisan pizza, salad and freshly made brownies from Velo Pizza
- a glass of wine to pair with your food
