In this year’s Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Awards, four Gloucestershire food and drink producers were awarded top prizes, with more wins than any other UK region.
Run by the Soil Association, the awards come against a backdrop of rising organic sales with the market growing by 7.3% in 2024 and sales doubling to what they were a decade ago, now totalling £3.7 billion.
These are the UK’s only awards that recognise and celebrate the organic industry. In the organic alcohol sector Stroud Brewery was awarded the gold in the Best of Organic Beer category whilst Dunkertons Cider took top place in the Best of Organic Cider category.
Family-run bakery, The Authentic Bread Company achieved a gold accolade in the Best of Organic Bakery category, whilst Fir Farm, based near Cheltenham, took gold in the Best of Organic Milk, Cream and Butter category.
