Shop Cotswolds Makes Gin

Shop Cotswolds was delighted to be invited to the Cirencester Distilling Gin School run by one of our members Uncommon Distillery.

Held in a fabulous location in central Cirencester, the two hour session was most entertaining and enjoyable as well as educational. Hosted by Ben and Leah (who were the best of hosts) we were given an introduction to gin making, the history and background of Uncommon Distillery and then were provided with some insights into how to combine the best botanicals and flavourings for a perfect tasting gin.

All this was prefaced with a tasting of Uncommon Distillery gins and a great selection of delicious canapes and snacks to pick at during the session.

Once we had the basics under our belts, we were let loose on the gin making process with individual sets of equipment to use and the most amazing selection of botanicals and ingredients to select.

With all the ingredients selected and placed in the copper vats, the distillation process got underway and we were able to chat and network with fellow guests and nibble at the snacks.

Once distilled and tested for alcohol content the gin was filtered and poured into the bottle with the last remaining exciting task of naming your gin!

A really enjoyable experience and thoroughly recommended for adult family groups, guests staying in the area, corporate events and local interest groups.
