English Tourism Week is now in full swing, lasting until the 24th March. The initiative is led by Visit England.
Recent research carried out by Visit West has revealed that the value of tourism to the region is currently thought to be worth £2.12bn, with over 40,000 people employed in the industry.
Further analysis shows that almost 80% of staying visitors are from the UK and the remaining 20% international. Day trips make up almost half of the spend in the region. Food and drink and retail account for almost 60% of all visitor spend.
