At the COP28 conference in the UAE, a historic move has taken place this week with over 130 countries signing the Leaders Declaration on Food Systems, Agriculture and Climate Action.
This signifies the first global commitment to reduce carbon emissions in the food system.
The declaration, developed with the support of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), aims to enhance resilience, promote food security, and support workers in the agricultural sector.
The declaration also calls for a review of policies, increased access to finance, acceleration of innovations, and strengthening of the multilateral trading system.
