Domestic Sentiment Tracker May 2023

The latest Visit England Domestic Sentiment Tracker for May 2023, published this week, shows that perception of the cost of living crisis has improved for the fifth consecutive month.

In May domestic overnight trip intention remained stable at 76%.

Of the UK adults surveyed, 49% believe that the “worst is still to come’ regarding the cost of living crisis, compared to 54% in April, 57% in March and 62% in February.

In order to remain cost conscious, 29% will choose cheaper accommodation for a domestic overnight stay, while 28% will spend less eating out, and 27% will look for more free things to do, all of which remains similar to April’s results.
