M&S to Boost Domestic Fruit and Veg

UK retailer Marks & Spencer has recently announced new initiatives under its Plan A sustainability programme, aiming to enhance the availability of British grown fruit and veg.

The retailer is collaborating with UK farmers to implement innovative agricultural practices that promote environmental sustainability.  These practices include precision farming techniques, such as advanced irrigation systems and soil health monitoring, to improve crop yields and reduce resource usage.

The retailer’s commitment to supporting local agriculture is part of its broader goal to become a zero-waste business by 2025. By focusing on UK-grown produce, the company aims to reduce its carbon footprint associated with importing goods and to provide fresher options for consumers.
