Severn & Wye Smokery has had plans for an eel farm in Lydney approved by the Forest of Dean District Council.
The plan for Pine End works on land to the north of Harbour Road in Lydney also include a fish processing building, a visitor centre, restaurant and on site staff housing.
The business aims to relocate the fish processing and headquarters from Chaxhill to Lydney and keep the Chaxhill site for the barn/restaurant/shop and the smokery buildings for non-fish products
