UK Farmers Concerned for the Future

A recent survey by the Country Land and Business Association reveals that the majority of UK farmers are worried about the survival of their farms following the introduction of the new inheritance tax rules next April.

Nearly 80% of those who took part in the survey said that they were worried that their business would not survive the next decade, just under 70% stated they would have to sell land or take out loans and more than 60% stated they were considering leaving the industry altogether.

According to the NFU, almost three quarters of Gloucestershire’s land is used for commercial farming.
